Concept car 308 RC Z
Before the production models, the 308 RC Z concept car was previewed in September 2007 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. This car is derived from the compact Peugeot 308 sedan.
It is equipped with the 1.6 THP engine taken from the 207 RC. However, this is improved and now develops a power of 218 hp and a torque of 280 nm. The 308 RC Z has a curb weight of 1,200 kg. This weight is achieved thanks to the use of aluminum for the two roof arches, a polycarbonate rear window and also many body parts are made of carbon fiber. Its power-to-weight ratio allows it to go from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 7 seconds and reach a top speed of 235 km/h. In terms of dimensions, it is 4,276 mm long (equal to the sedan), 1,840 mm wide (25 mm more than the sedan) and 1,320 mm high. With its proportions it has a very dynamic style and high level handling.
RCZ HYbrid4
The Peugeot RCZ Hybrid4 is the hybrid version of the RCZ. Presented as a concept car at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2009, this model used PSA's Hybrid4 technology (diesel/electric hybridization) already presented on the 3008. The series hybrid system combines the 163 hp 2.0 HDI diesel engine placed at the front with a 37 hp electric motor placed on the rear axle, thus providing all-wheel drive. The whole gave a cumulative power of 200 hp, and a very low consumption and CO2 emissions level of 2.96 l/100 km and 95 g/km. However, this model never saw the light of day.
RCZ R Concept
It was at the Paris Motor Show in September 2012 that the RCZ R Concept was presented. The RCZ R Concept has a 1.6-liter THP four-cylinder engine already present in the RCZ which developed 200 hp. This time, the engine has been boosted developing 260 hp. The chassis is improved, the shock absorbers are revised and a new Torsen type limited slip differential is installed. CO2 emissions are limited to 155 g/km. On the exterior, a new front end, a rear spoiler as well as specific matte black paint with copper-colored arches
RCZ Magna Steyr « Top View »
During the Geneva Motor Show in March 2013, equipment manufacturer Magna Steyr, manufacturer of production Peugeot RCZs, presented the “Top View”, a convertible concept car of the RCZ. This concept could not have seen the light of day without the agreement of Peugeot. This RCZ retains its roof arches and so it is not a real convertible. The system that equips it is on the other hand completely new since it is made up of several glass panels allowing great visibility and entry of light, while retaining the typical double boss of the rear window. Opening and closing in 12 seconds. The car was presented in a matte copper orange color.
