RCZ Racing Cup
In 2012, Peugeot organized a one-make series based on the gasoline version of the RCZ. This car racing championship will exist until 2016 with the RCZ Racing Cup. Like the RCZ Nürburgring, the RCZ Racing Cup will undergo a reduction of around 250 kg to obtain an empty mass of just over a tonne (1,070 kg). To achieve this, no frills, the entire interior has been removed, a roll bar and a specific cockpit occupy the passenger compartment. The running gear receives new shock absorbers and a braking system. The 18-inch wheels are fitted with Michelin slicks. In terms of engine, the 1.6 l THP 200 has modified pistons and connecting rods. New electronic mapping is developed by Magneti Marelli to produce 250 hp at 6,500 rpm and 290 N m of torque. The gearbox is a SADEV six-speed sequential paddle shifter.

24 Hours of the Nürburgring.
In 2010, Peugeot celebrated its 200th anniversary. As part of the events linked to this anniversary, the French brand is entering two RCZ HDi at the start of the 24 hours of the Nürburgring, with one French crew (car no. 200) and the other German (car no. 201). In order to be able to participate in this event in the “D1T” category, reserved for diesel vehicles with a cylinder capacity between 1.7 and 2.0 l, Peugeot will modify its 163 hp engine to increase it to 200 hp. This will involve more optimized injection, increased turbo pressure and revised engine mapping. Its power increases to 200 hp. Other parts were brought from the Peugeot or Peugeot Sport catalog. The rims come from the options list of the base RCZ, the retractable rear wing is replaced by a large carbon spoiler and a rollbar is installed. Radical change in terms of braking since the discs from the 807 are fitted on this RCZ. All interior trim, air conditioning and other items unnecessary for a racing car have been removed. Thanks to this, the weight reduction is estimated at 150 kg.
