Business results and rewards
The Peugeot RCZ wasted no time in making headlines.
In 2009 it received the title of “most beautiful car of the year”, awarded by the International Automobile Festival.
2010 is the year of recognition with numerous prizes.
It starts with the British car show Top Gear which awarded it the “Coupe of the Year” prize at the Top Gear Awards.
The RCZ will also receive this award three times in a row from the British magazine Auto Express. The readers of this magazine award the RCZ the “Special Design Award”.
Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen, the German design institute, awarded him the title of “Red Dot Design Award” for his specific design.
The same year, the RCZ won three major awards in China, just three months after its launch in that country.
First of all, it is the website Sohu.com, appearing in the top 10 for visits to Chinese websites and in the top 50 for international websites, which attributes it to the award for “coolest imported car of the year”.
A few weeks later, the Southern Metropolis Daily awarded it the “Imported Sports Car of the Year Award”.
And finally, the Chinese edition of the automobile magazine Top Gear awarded it the prize for “best sports car of the year”.
In 2011, the RCZ was voted “Gay Car of the Year”, awarded by Ledorga, a site for gays, enthusiasts and collectors of vintage or exceptional cars.
Finally in 2012, the RCZ was elected “Coupe of the Year” in Dubai, by a jury made up of journalists specializing in automobiles from many Middle Eastern countries.
In Europe, the RCZ was sold in a total of 50,753 units.
For the year 2009, 88 units were sold, then in 2010 11,587 and in 2011, the most successful year for sales, 15,343 models were sold.
2012, 2013 and 2014 will see a decline, with 9,585, 7,440 and 5,796 models sold respectively.
In 2015, only 419 copies were sold, then in 2016 485 and 2017 the last 10 models were sold.
